We Care about our Community

Mike believes in giving back to his community and has mentored many individuals, from troubled teens to business startups at the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute.

We Care about our Environment

As a co-founder of the non-profit volunteer organization, "Friends of the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve" in 2000, Mike has been a driving force in creating the 450 acre Nature Preserve in East Lyme, CT with public/private partnerships and is actively working as a board member today. Mike is committed to protecting and expanding the Hills for future generations to enjoy.

Here is a video about the Oswegatchie Hills created by Mike and his daughter.

The bird species found in the Oswegatchie Hills in Niantic, CT changed significantly during forest succession as the forest regrew after the 400 acre fire of 1962 .

We Care about people

Among Mike's most important philanthropic interests is Dances with Wood, a charity that is a Creative Arts Program that empowers and inspires children who are hospitalized with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Solar Power

Dunn Associates was an early adopter of solar power for producing electricity for it's self storage investments in 2008. Rent-A-Space installed roof-top solar panels in East Lyme and Waterford which generate half of our electricity needs. We thank the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund for helping to make this possible.

Most recently, Mike designed and built a solar powered, "Off the Grid" cabin deep in the woods of New Hampshire.
